On March 20, 2010, The American Lung Association hosted its 4th annual Fight For Air Climb in Philadelphia. Over 450 runners climbed the 1,088 steps of the Bell Atlantic Tower in Philadelphia in an effort to raise money for the ALA to contribute to the fight against lung disease. This year, they were able to raise over $130,000!
For the second year in a row, Guy Homer (president) and Shelly Homer (bookkeeper) volunteered at the event. They both worked at the starting line, with Guy releasing each runner individually and Shelly recording their start times. Check out this picture of Guy and Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter (on the right) who was present to offer encouragement and high-fives to the runners.
The Homer Group has been working with The American Lung Association for many years and was able to contribute more than just volunteer time to this year’s event—we also designed and produced the signage and banners displayed at the event, and printed the brochures.
